Since 1963, Dwyer Mast & Rigging has been a leading supplier of high-quality sailboat masts, booms, hardware, and rigging with equipment found on boats from Com-Pac Yachts, Precision Marine, American Sail, Marshall & Stur-Dee Cat boats, Catalina, Dyer Dhow, O’Day, Rhodes, Club 420s and Flying Juniors. Founded in Branford, Connecticut as the Dwyer Aluminum Mast Company, ownership transitioned to Zim Sailing, the Bristol, Rhode Island based small sailboat builder, in 2018 and became Dwyer Mast & Rigging. 

The marine industry continues to change with fewer small boat builders and declining demand for certain legacy products. To ensure that Dwyer Mast & Rigging continues as a key supplier of aluminum sailboat spars and hardware, the business is shifting focus. Effective April 1st, 2026, Dwyer Mast & Rigging will exclusively manufacture a selection of masts, booms, and rigging for specific One Design classes including the Club 420, CFJ, 420E, and ISCA. These products will be distributed exclusively through Zim Sailing and the Zim Sailing Dealer Network, with no purchases directly from Dwyer Mast & Rigging. 

While this represents a significant shift, Dwyer Mast & Rigging will continue to be a key supplier for Zim Sailing and a primary builder of ISCA spars. With Dwyer built spars found on fleets of 420s and FJs around the country, Dwyer Mast & Rigging will also continue as a title sponsor of both the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association and the Inter-Scholastic Sailing Association. This transition will allow Dwyer Mast & Rigging to focus on the most vibrant, growing one design classes while supporting youth sailing, one design racing, and training around the world.
